Watch D.O.G.S are on Patrol!!
Thank you for your interest in our school Watch D.O.G.S. program!
What Is Watch D.O.G.S.?
WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) is the safe school initiative of the National Center for Fathering that involves fathers and father figures to help create a more safe and secure learning environment in our nation's schools.
WATCH D.O.G.S. was founded by Jim Moore, a concerned father who chose to take action in response to a 1998 middle-school shooting in Jonesboro, AR. Joined with National Center for Fathering in 2006, WATCH D.O.G.S. serves to inspire and equip men to be the involved fathers, grandfathers and father-figures their students need. To find out more about this important program visit the Watch D.O.G.S. website.
Who can be WatchDOGS? Fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures who volunteer to serve at least one day each year in a variety of school activities as assigned by the school principal or other administrator.
What are the program benefits at Purple Sage Elementary?
Schools gain an extra set of eyes and ears.
We want to make our Watch DOG presence known at Purple Sage!
We need Dads to help out in the mornings when the kids are just getting to school, at lunch time, and at dismissal. We also have a Chess program Thursdays after school and could use some volunteers. Purple Sage is looking for Dads to serve mostly during those times but will work with your time as well.
Contact Purple Sage Office Specialist, Stephanie Thornburg at [email protected] to volunteer.
